Urmu and Urgen are playing outside.
"Oh no, it's raining!"
"Let's go inside."
"Hey, look at all that marcha." *Marcha is yeast.
One by one, Urmu and Urgen start throwing marcha into the pond.
"Oh no, I can see Aapa Aama.""Let's go hide."
"What is all this mess?"
"Urmu! Urgen! Is that marcha in the water?"
They feel really, really bad.
"Do you know that marcha is very useful to us? Remember when our pet goat had blisters all over her face, we used marcha to make her feel better."
"Aama, we will help you make new marcha."
More About Marcha. Marcha is yeast. In the Tamang community, marcha is prepared by mixing mugwort and Brahmachi, a local herb, with rice and millet flour. Marcha saves the food from rotting. It is also used as a medicine.
