Domu & Lamu’s Big Adventure, Part 2: The Damphu Journey

"Our masters mistreat us. Let us leave this place," Domu says to Lamu.

"Oh, your potato lumps look good on you!" Lamu says to Domu to cheer him up.

"Let us explore down there," Domu says. "How will we get there?" Lamu asks

"We will roll down in the damphu drum," Domu says.

"The damphu cover has become loose, let's fix it." "1 peg."Lamu starts to shave the bamboo to make the pegs.

2 pegs: They are equal in size. 3 pegs: All equal. 32 pegs. They are all equal.

"Hand that over," Lamu says. She grabs the damphu from Domu.

"No, no," Domu says. He grabs it right back.

"Let me put the pegs in it," Lamu says. "No, we should not," Domu says.

"This potato is trying to hurt me with the damphu," Lamu shouts.

Domu stops fighting. "Okay, let us go," he says. Domu and Lamu start rolling the damphu.

"Oh, God Konjyosom, protect us," Lamu says. "If you are afraid, close your eyes," Domu says as he pushes the damphu.

"This is scary!" Lamu says. "This is fun!" Domu says.

Two woodpeckers fly over Domu and Lamu. "What is that rolling over there, dear?" one says.

"Hello," the woodpeckers say to Domu and Lamu.

"They are going to eat us," Domu says. He hides inside Lamu’s skirt.

Domu and Lamu arrive at a beautiful Kakaling Nhaan.

The woodpeckers sing to calm Domu and Lamu: “Where have you come from? How did you get into trouble? I wonder what your name is! I wonder what's your caste? I hope you won't be scared. I hope you will stay calm."

Lamu sings back: We have come rolling down the hills, moving to the beats of the dhyangro."

Domu and Lamu tell the woodpeckers about their night. "What a long journey," one woodpecker says. "Why don't you stay here?" the other woodpecker suggests.
