Domu & Lamu’s Big Adventure, Part 1: In Search of Warmth

It is the middle of the night. Domu the potato is alone in the field. "Hee hee hee...That tickles!" Domu says. Two ants are walking on him.

Suddenly one ant bites him. "Yikes!" Domu jumps in pain. He falls and hits his head.

Lumps form on his head. "It hurts so much!" Domu says.

Domu pees his pants. The ants run away. They are terrified of urine.

Domu shivers in the cold night. He walks to a house.

Domu sees a warm vest hanging up high. He leans a board against the wall.

Domu tries to climb up. But he falls and rolls down. The noise wakes a family of potatoes.

"Leave us alone," one potato shouts. "Why are you even here?" another asks. "Go away," a third one says. Domu grabs the vest and leaves.

Domu puts on the vest. "It is too big," he says.

Domu finds a hat. "This covers my eyes," he says.

Domu sees a damphu drum. Then he sees a moth. "Oh no! The moth wants to eat me," Domu says.

Domu hides inside the damphu.

The damphu starts to roll down the hill. "Someone, please help!" Domu calls.

The damphu stops at the bottom of the hill. Domu gets out of the damphu. A strange creature approaches Domu. It is playing a dhyangro. “Dongo, dongo the dhyangro beats, Let’s eat rice and meat.” Domu jumps inside the damphu again. "Dhyappa," sounds the damphu.

"Are you a Bombo?" Domu asks. "Do not tease me, you mula! I am cold," the creature says.

"Look who calls me a mula! You are the radish," Domu says. "My name is Lamu. Why are you out this late?" the creature asks.

Domu tells Lamu about his adventures. 'First, the master was careless, the ant was ruthless, then the moth chased me.' Domu starts to cry. Lamu says her master left her out in the field, too.

"How do we get home up the hill?" Lamu asks. "UP the hill?" Domu is stumped.
