The Owl's New Perch
A strong wind blew through the old forest tree. SNAP! The wise old owl's favorite moon-gazing branch broke right off.
The owl flew to a lower, wider branch, hoping for quiet. But busy squirrels chattered loudly and tossed nuts right past its ear!
Next, the owl tried a very tall, leafy oak tree. But a whole family of noisy magpies had made a nest there, squawking about their day.
It spotted a very high, slender branch that looked peaceful. But when the owl landed, the branch swayed and wobbled like a boat on choppy water!
The owl looked around carefully, its golden eyes wide. It saw two sturdy branches growing close together, forming a perfect cradle.
The owl settled into the sturdy spot. High above the forest, peaceful and quiet, it finally gazed at the moon once more. Hooo-hooo!

Even wise creatures must find new solutions when old comforts are lost.
