A young beaver kit watched his family busily building their dam. He wanted to find the perfect log too!

The kit spotted the long, smooth log on the far bank. He tried to pull it, but it was stuck fast in the thick, gooey mud!

He tried pushing with his head, but the log was much too heavy. Suddenly, a little green frog hopped onto the log and croaked, "Too heavy alone!"

The kit looked at his reflection in the water, then at his strong family dam. He had a clever idea!

He gnawed on a strong vine by the river's edge, then carefully tied it around the stuck log. He swam, pulling the vine with all his strength!

Plop! The log splashed into the water and floated all the way to the dam. The proud kit nudged it perfectly into place.
Big problems can be solved with a clever plan and a little hard work.
What was the beaver kit's big problem?
